yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting and a...
Yesterday I spent just about all day making 3 dozen yellow cake cupcakes. I wanted to make them both to photograph and for my sisters birthday tomorrow & valentines day. I’ve never actually made cupcakes before but it was super easy and pretty fun.
I used the smitten kitchen ‘best birthday cake’ recipe with a few alterations. I also cheated and bought the frosting.

Did a quick little photo shoot on my porch today with some new props I gathered this week. Also I learned that radishes are pretty yummy.

Today I went to Oaklands to buy some plants to finally fill the giant jar Ryan got me for my birthday this summer. Mom bought me the Primrose plant for xmas, and I got baby tears and another little african violet plant (which was free!) to put with it. I was planning on putting one of the taller plants in with them as well but I wanted to be able to put the lid on the jar so I left it out.

Holidays on Ice
For Photo Illustration our assignment was to shoot a cover photo for David Sedaris’ Holidays on Ice. I haven’t read it before but we did get to listen to an audio version of Santaland, which is included in the book. Anyway, it was pretty fun to think of what to shoot for this, here is my first idea:

I made a poster in illustrator for class and we had to use everything we learned all in one thiing!! I didn’t want it to look too crazy and terrible so I tried to use everything just very subtly. Also this would be a really confusing show to go to.
